Feeling Stuck? 4 Ways To Make A Change In Your Life [A Must Read]

Change 2 Feeling Stuck? 4 Ways To Make A Change In Your Life [A Must Read]

Have you ever felt stuck in one place? Or wondered what you’re actually doing with your life? Do you feel like you have nowhere to go until you do your time, and all you can think of is how much you want to get away and move on to the next adventure? We’ve all been there, whether it is comparing our lives to others, a hangover day when we’re seriously questioning the antics from the night before or when we just have too much time on our hands.
To avoid driving yourself mad, next time you’re feeling stuck or that you might not be living your life to its fullest potential, remember these few points:
Find Your Passion
Give yourself a break. Maybe you just haven’t found your passion in life yet, and that’s perfectly okay. After all, how are you supposed to know what you really want to do if you don’t test the waters by casting out the net as far and wide as possible?
Take up a new hobby you think you might be interested in. What have you got to lose?
If it doesn’t work out, you can’t say you didn’t try and you’ll know that you definitely don’t want to do it. If it does work out, then it will bring you endless joy, a sense of accomplishment and even an extremely successful career.
It’s Never Too Late
It really is never too late to change the course of your life. If you’re genuinely unhappy where you are or with where your life is going, it is up to you to change it.
Who says when you can or can’t start something new and whether or not you might succeed at it? Listen to your heart and your head will follow. If it’s something you really want to do, the only thing getting in the way is you.
Think being in your 20s is too late to change your life? Being in your 20s is the perfect time. You have worldly experience, you’ve probably lived alone, you know what you value and you know that there’s so much more in the world to learn about.
Your 20s is the only time you’ll have all this knowledge, minus the endless responsibilities that come with your 30s. The time is now.
Don’t Compare Yourself To Others
Okay, so I need to take my own advice here, but it’s true. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side; it’s greener where it’s watered.
If you put as much effort into improving or changing your own circumstances as you did following the life of someone else, imagine where you could be. This is your life; you are responsible for grabbing it by the reigns and controlling where it goes.
Oh, you’re not known internationally? You don’t have millions in the bank, yet? Just imagine where you could be in five years time if you put your mind to it. You never know; people could be wishing for your life in years to come.
Be Happy
At the end of the day, it’s all about being happy, right? If you’re happy where you are and where you’re going, fantastic. If you’re not and you really are wondering why you’re stuck in this job or internship, maybe it is time to get out.
Be brave and do it for you because no one else will.
Sure, feeling stuck or trapped where you are sucks when you’re not enjoying yourself, but sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and get on with it. If it’s where you want to be, remember that it will be worth it. If it’s not, it’s up to you to change your path. “Life’s what you make it!”

Nigerians Spend N1.8 Billion Daily On Sports Betting Daily

bet9ja nairabet naijaloaded Nigerians Spend N1.8 Billion Daily On Sports Betting Daily
About 60 million Nigerians between 18 and 40 years of age may be spending up to N1.8 billion on sports betting daily, investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reveals.
The investigation showed that they commit on the average N3,000 on sports betting daily.
Dotun Ajekigbe, a sport betting analyst, said that sport betting though risky was also rewarding.
Ajekigbe said that about 60 million Nigerians placed bets on different matches daily across the country.
He said that most unemployed youths have taken to online and other forms of sports betting to make a living.
According to him, from findings this group of people stake an average of N3,000 daily.
“Sport betting is gambling, not investing in bank shares.
“But almost everything in life is a gamble, more so with money matters. With gambling comes risks because it not 100 per cent guaranteed.
“However, you can dramatically reduce your risks by taking calculated risks only.
“When you take calculated risks, you base your decisions on sound research and evidence, not intuition.
“Sport betting is by chance. The better informed the player is, the better the chance he/she has of making money,” he said.
Ambrose Obialor, who runs Yobo Viewing Centre, Lagos, says that some people bet between N2, 000, N10, 000 and above, depending on the individual.
He said that some people denied themselves of food after spending all they had on a bet.
Afeez Adigun, an agent for 1960 Bet Company, Lagos, said that between 200 and 300 people visit his office to place bets on match days during football seasons. while about 150 people bet at off-seasons.
According to him, a betting company can generate up to N20 million monthly and use between N5 million and N7 million to meet winners obligations in terms of payment.
He also described sports betting as very risky but highly rewarding business.
A representative of another betting company, Betting World, who did not want his name mentioned, said that sport betting companies have employed about 50 youths in Lagos.
He also said that betting outlets were always filled with countless young people between ages 18 and 40 who come to place their bets.
The representative said that most people borrow as much as 10,000 for their daily stakes, stressing that some of them win, while others lose but returned for the next day’s betting.
He said that most people did not like to place bets on Nigerian matches because they were highly predictable.
Lanre Gbajabiamila, Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Lottery Board, said the lottery industry was very risky but also lucrative.
Gbajabiamila said that the board generated about N1 million in 2013 from about 11 sport betting companies in the state.
He added that more revenue could be generated with more investment to develop the industry.
“The state government has been making efforts to provide an enabling environment for the lottery industry but only 40 per cent of the industry had been tapped into.
“We urge the Federal Government to create a more enabling environment for operators in the industry to increase revenue and create jobs for youths.
“The major needs of the operators are improved electricity and internet provision to boost the business,” he said.
He restated the commitment of the board to rid the state of illegal lottery operators.

Kola Nut Can Cure Ebola – Prof. Maurice Iwu

Professor Maurice Iwu said a plant commonly eaten in West Africa, popularly known as kola nut can curethe deadly Ebola virus as shown in its tracks during a laboratory tests.
The Professor, who made the revelation while speaking at the 16th International Botanical Congress in St Louis in the United States of America, also disclosed that a compound taken from kola nut plant have also proved effective against some strains of flu.
He stated that if the anti-Ebola compound proves successful in animal and human trials, it will be the first medicine to successfully treat the virus that causes Ebola haemorrhagic fever which is usually a fatal condition.
Iwu, who set up and heads the Bioresources Development and Conservation Programme, led the research that reportedly started 10 years ago, after researchers were led to the plant by traditional native healers who said they have used the plant for the treatment of infectious diseases for centuries.
Prof. Iwu who also came from a family of traditional healers after the tour said: “This is a very exciting discovery. The same forest that yields the dreaded Ebola virus could be a source of the cure.”
He, however, noted that tests are still in the early stages, adding that researchers hope that if the compound continue to prove successful the US Food and Drug Administration will put it on a fast track and produce drugs for humans within a matter of years.
The discovery of these important properties in a simple compound, flavonoids was very surprising. The structure of this compound lends itself to modification, so it provides a template for future work. Even if this particular drug does not succeed through the whole drug approval process, we can use it to construct a new drug for this deadly disease,” Dr. Iwu said.
He said the Garcinia kola compound has been shown to halt multiplication of the virus in the laboratory, noting that if repeated in humans, it would give the body a chance to fight off the virus.
Meanwhile, Ebola virus was first recorded in 1976 after an outbreak in Zaire now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where 88 per cent of the 318 people that were infected died. Another outbreak in 1995 also claimed the lives of 81% of the 315 infected people. There are four types of the virus:
Ebola-Zaire, Ebola-Sudan and Ebola-Ivory Coast all affect humans, while Ebola-Reston has so far only affected monkeys and chimpanzees. The virus multiplies rapidly in the human body and quickly overwhelms it, and in advanced cases the patient develops high fever and severe bleeding. It is reported that doctors are unable to curtail the virus once infection has taken over the victim, giving the disease a terrifying reputation.
Maurice Iwu, who is a Professor of Pharmacognosy, was appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in June 2005, and was later removed from office in April 2010. He wrote this article when he was still a Doctor, and the article was first published by the British Broadcasting Corporation on August 5, 1999. He studied at the University of Bradford, England, where got a Master of Pharmacy degree in 1976 and a Ph.D in 1978. The Professor is believed to have since returned to researching after ceding office to the current INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

Dear Fans and Media Reps: Apology Letter to YSG Entertainment Limited.
I hope this meets you well. It is no secret that the last 12 months have been the most turbulent of my music career. With regards to the lingering issues about which I have been mute, I, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun popularly known to you as Vector Tha Viper, wish to state the following;
YSG Entertainment Ltd without any doubt, gave me the platform to show case my talent to the world. It is true we had misunderstandings on issues concerning my engagement with them. Continue...

There’s an existing Federal High Court injunction preventing me from doing what I love to do and this serves me and my fans no good. However, we have entered into a settlement to have the injunction lifted.

That by reason of irreconcilable differences, my Record Contract Agreement with YSG Entertainment Ltd has been aborted.
That being said, in the spirit of good faith and a show of unreserved commitment to settle these issues amicably out of court, I have sought and obtained permission from the label to pay off the discounted recoupable expenses as contained in the Terms of Settlement in this regards.
I would also like to apologize to the management of YSG Entertainment Ltd for any embarrassment occasioned by my conduct and whatever damage it may have suffered as a result of the slander and libel as portrayed by the media in this regard. These issues were exaggerated by the media as I hold YSG Entertainment Ltd in high esteem. I also appreciate the leniency afforded me by discounting the recoupable expenses for me.
I wish the company well in all their endeavors.
Thank you.

Signed:
Olanrewaju David Ogunmefun.
