Tonto is Confused?

The irony of life is that if one thinks he/she is all that, there is someone who is all that more than you. There is someone richer than you, more beautiful or handsome than you and smarter than you.

Tonto who recently got married should have just stopped at that. But she later came forward again to say she has been married since. To who? Since when?

Was she married when she took up music as a second career? Or she was probably married when all the controversy between her relationships with other celebrities was all over the net, probably she was married when she was signed to Dbanj’s record label.

If Tonto was married since, why then did she choose to come out now, why then did she choose to make her hubby known now, why then did she choose to flaunt the engagement ring her hubby gave her now. Because according to her Instagram page, she has been waiting for the ring since. (You should see the pix on her Instagram page, except she has taken it off)

May be it’s me, I probably don’t know what marriage is any more. But, I thought marriage is a union between a man and a woman and engagement rings are only given when one is about to get married or when one is actually married. I also thought when a lady is married, she starts to bear her husband’s name as her last name. Except, Dikeh is your husband’s name(it will then make a whole lot of sense)  It’s however not impossible that I am lost to the fact that some things have changed (I am not yet married na).

This however as nothing to do with privacy, marriage is not private. So, Tonto dont tell us its privacy. because if it was, why make it public now?

I need Tonto to please answer just these two questions. If you have been married since;

-         Why did you decide to make it public now?

-         How long have you been married?

I bet y’all are boiling to see what I want to write about this incredible personalities yea…

Yes I am talking about the fascinating and talented brothers P-square and their elder brother Jude ‘engees’ Okoye.

Now… I have always wondered over the years how this brothers have been able to keep it within the walls of the family. Before I proceed, I want you guys to tell me one of P-square’s songs that you don’t like… (I love all their songs).

80% of their songs was produced by their brother, Jude. And all the songs were hit songs at one point or the other. Except the songs in which they were featured by another artiste. Even their music videos, are most times directed by Jude or Jude and someone else.

I don’t know how they do it, but no doubt the Okoyes are one of the most successful musical families in Nigeria.

Peter can dance and sing, Paul can sing and dance (If you understand what I mean), and Jude produces their music, directs and co-directs their music videos.

All their songs starting from Senorita (even before that) to Collabo (and of course… after that) are songs you will want to put on replay.

Who doesn’t like P-square? (Except bad belles)….its allowed.

Meet D’Banj’s new manager, Tonya Merritt

For a while now, it’s been practically impossible to reach out to Koko master, D’Banj. This is because the multiple award winning pop star has not made details of his management available to people and the fact that the exit of his last manager, Tony Nwakalor was done on a low key. NET investigations have however revealed that D’banj has really parted ways with Tony Nwakalor and his new manager is an American-based woman who goes by the name, Tonya Merritt while Davido’s former manager, Asa Asika currently represents D’Banj here in Nigeria. The media personality responsible for the shut down of Linda Ikeji’s blog after reporting her to google over plagiarism and copyright infringements, Mr. Aye Dee has come out to console the female blogger on Twitter. Meanwhile, even with Linda’s blog having been yanked off by Google on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, Mr. Aye Dee, who claims to be the Editor-in-Chief of United States-based media platform, ‘15Past8 media group’ went on his Twitter page today, October 9, 2014, to post several tweet consoling the former model. In the tweets, Aye Dee went as far rendering prayers for Ms Ikeji to come back bigger and stronger.

What Google said about deleting LINDA IKEJI'S BLOG

The furore over what began as a bitter Twitter exchange between a Nigerian whose identity is known simply as Mr Aye Dee and celebrated blogger, Linda Ikeji, reached its climax on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 when Google finally deleted the popular www.linda ikeji.blogspot.com. The shut down of Nigeria’s leading blog followed complaints filed to Google by Mr Aye Dee, editor-in-chief of US-based 15Past8 media group according to his bio, against Linda Ikeji over copyright infringements. And having tweeted: ‘Google just notified us that they are removing our copyrighted content from Linda Ikeji’s website. All the stories and images Linda Ikeji took from me without permission in the last few days have been removed from her site by Google. Someone has to say something. It costs money to get good work done. I spend time getting information from my sources, as well as analysing and verifying the information. All that costs money. I don’t mind donating my time for Nigeria’s sake, but for someone to take my labour and use it for personal profit, no way!’ days ago, the blog was finally shut down yesterday. Responding to enquiries made by NET, Taiwo Kolade-Ogunlade, the search engine’s Communications and Public Affairs manager in Anglo-Phone West Africa, said issues of copyright infringements are seriously considered and swiftly dealt with by Google. In a direct link he sent as part of his reply, Google makes it clear that ‘Blogger respects the rights of copyright holders and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable copyright laws. When we receive proper notice as required by the DMCA, we will work to promptly remove content that has been identified as copyright infringement. Repeat infringers’ blogs are removed, and in appropriate instances Blogger accounts will be terminated.’ Going further, the statement points to Blogger’s copyright policy and Copyright Tips: ‘In general, any original work of authorship may be protected by copyright. Copyrighted materials may be subject to claims of copyright infringement. The most common reason we take down content from blogs for copyright infringement is that they have republished unauthorized copies of copyrighted content, and the owners of the copyrighted content have alerted us that their content is being used without their permission. Once we become aware of an unauthorized use, we will remove the content promptly.’ The company lists literary works including articles and passages of text, images and photographs, music files and MP3s, movies, movie trailers and videos among copyright materials, adding : ‘Anytime Blogger is properly notified that a blog or any part of a blog on our site infringes the copyrights of a third party, we will take it down from the site as required by law. If you believe that a blog infringes your copyright, please send us a copyright notice and we’ll take it down. If you believe we’ve removed content from your blog in error and that you are the copyright owner or have permission, you can file a counter notice and let us know. Accounts determined to be repeated infringers may be subject to termination.’ Finally the statement says: ‘Our current repeat infringer policy counts strikes by 24-hour periods. For example, if 5 blog posts were removed under the DMCA today, those removals would count as 1 strike. If 3 more posts were removed on the following day, those would count as 1 additional strike, totalling 2 strikes against that blogger’s account. Multiple strikes will be evaluated and may result in further remedial action, including deletion of the blog and/or terminating the account.’ This makes it clear what happened in the case of the deletion of Linda Ikeji’s blog which, however, seemingly made a brief return about an hour after it was first deleted yesterday before going down again.... 

Wizkid claims to write some of Rihanna's songs.....

In a recent interview on the Capital Xtra show with DJ Abrantee in London while promoting his new album ‘Ayo,’ Nigeria’s award winning pop sensation, Wizkid has confirmed he was with American super star, Rihanna in the studio while he was in Los Angeles. Not just that, Wizkid said he wrote some songs for her album project. In his words, Wizkid said: ‘Yea, I went to the studio to write something for her, she was in the studio as well, big shout out to Rihanna, so we made something together hopefully it gets picked. We’ll still do more stuffs together, you know she’s a cool person, I’m going back to Los Angeles so definitely I’m going to get back in the studio with her again.’...

Wang Zhengyang became one of the trending topics recently after attending China Internet Security Conference in Beijing as the country’s youngest hacker. The 13-year-old boy who hacked into school computer system to get answers for his homework, is currently working with Tsinghua University in Beijing, and has developed a public profile in China.‎ Speaking at the conference, the junior student said: ‘You have to attack the websites first to find its weaknesses.’ ‘It is interesting to look for website security risks and I am overwhelmed with joy when I find one. But I will not use my talent for something illegal.’... 

Chris Brown linked with Los Angeles stabbing incident

Just when you think Chris Brown has learnt how to stay out of trouble, something else happens. The music star has been linked with a stabbing incident in the latest of demeanours that have something to do with him or his entourage. The incident took place at Supper club in Hollywood shortly after Chris Brown finished his set at a YMCMB Drake and Lil Wayne after-party on Monday, September 22, 2014. The victim, whose name has not been released, was hospitalised but is expected to recover. Law enforcement sources said that no arrest was made because no one would give any information, but believe trouble follows the 25-year-old star and his friends. One insider said: ‘When Brown and his people show, we know what’s going to happen. It’s a headache for us.’ The Los Angeles Police Department privately met with nightclub owners and urged them to blacklist Chris, who has not been accused of instigating the violence, and his crew, but they reportedly plan to continue to welcome the ‘Turn Up The Music’ singer and his entourage with open arms, as they make a lot of money from his performances. A source previously claimed Chris, who spent 108 days behind bars for violating his probation when he allegedly made threats about using guns while seeking anger-management treatment in rehab earlier this year, and Drake’s club appearances and performances were under observation by a group of officers from the New York Police Department – known as the ‘Hip-Hop’ squad – in the wake a shooting at Chris’ party at the 1Oak nightclub in Los Angeles last month, in which three people, including music producer Suge Knight, were injured.... 

Davido and Wizkid to battle for MOBO ‘Best African Act’ award

The nominees list for the 2014 edition of the MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) awards has just been released, and it puts two of Nigeria’s hottest acts, Davido and Wizkid in the same category. The two, who have become rivals all of a sudden due to a raging beef, will battle for the ‘Best African Act’ category alongside Nigerian acts – Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and Dr Sid while others nominated include Fuse ODG, Dj Clock, Afrikan Boy, Mafikizolo and Mista Silva. Since their renewed beef escalated two months ago, this is the first time the two stars would be placed in the same corner to battle for an award in the same category this year. Already, Davido has won all the available awards for the Best African act in 2014 but the MOBO nomination would represent a level-playing ground for both stars to justify who is hotter as the year begins to wind down. The MOBO awards would hold at the SSE Arena, Wembley London on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.... 

Patience Jonathan tried to get Alicia Keys to perform in Nigeria

The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has made headlines for different reasons in the past especially on account of the meeting she convened with supposed relatives of the kidnapped Chibok girls. However, the latest incident of mistaken identity allegedly commiited by Mrs Jonathan pitches the President’s wife against no less a personality than America’s award-winning music star, Alicia Keys A tweet by Alicia Quarles, the University of Southern California graduate and TV personality who currently works with E!, indicates the first lady has made a request to the lady to  come and perform for her in Nigeria, obviously mistaking her for Alicia Keys. Although Quarles did not provide further details on whether the approach was personally made by Dame Patience Jonathan or somebody from her camp, it is believed the request must have been made in the excitement of being introduced to Alicia Quarles whose name doesn’t come out so different from Alicia Keys’ name when properly pronounced.    ‘The First Lady of Nigeria just invited me to sing in her country. I had to break it to her that I’m Alicia Quarles, not @aliciakeys comedy,’ she wrote. It is however, not confirmed if the First Lady actually invited her to sing in the country but it looks like Alicia Quarles deleted the tweet soon after. Veteran American rapper and record producer, Dr. Dre has been named the highest earning hip hop artiste for the year with $620m earned in a single year, according to Forbes. The 49-year-old who is placed ahead of  nineteen fellow rappers including P.Diddy, Jay Z, Drake and others, had his earnings come through the $3 billion sale to Apple of the Beats high-end headphone company he founded with music executive, Jimmy Iovine along with other financial ventures, including cognac and vodka brands. Reports say Forbes reported Dre’s estimated annual earnings for the 12 months between June 2013 and June 2014 are the highest of any musician in any genre it has ever evaluated. Big Brother reveals first Nigerian housemate.

The first Nigerian contestant in the 9th edition of Big Brother Africa ‘Hotshots’ has just been unveiled. The fair skinned model, actress and presenter is named Lilian and would prefer she is called Sexy Lily.  The young woman said she entered Big Brother Hotshots for ‘the platform it provides and the publicity that comes with it, and the money.’ She’s not willing to sell herself short to win the grand prize. If she does win, she’ll invest in her talk show, which is about ‘helping upcoming talents’ and buy herself a house. Sexy Lily prefers chilling with boys and says fellow housemates would like her because she’s very friendly and knows how to make people happy although she also says she can be very annoying too.
