University of Sussex Support Scholarship 2014 for Nigerians

The British Council in Nigeria on behalf of the University of Sussex presents a unique scholarship opportunity for two students. This award is tenable at the University for the academic year commencing in September 2014. This is a great opportunity for exceptional students who have aspirations of obtaining an international degree to do so.
To qualify for this scholarship individuals have to take part in our competition, have applied to and hold an offer of a place at Sussex and meet the entry criteria listed below.

CRITERIA
For distinction award
  • Second Class Upper however strong applicants with a high Second Class Lower (minimum of 3.0 GPA out of 5) will be considered.
  • Have applied and hold an offer of a place on an eligible postgraduate course at Sussex
  • A Nigerian citizen resident in Nigeria
For merit award
  • Minimum of A,A,A at A Level, BTEC or International Baccalaureate or
  • Minimum of GPA 3.0 and above from an accredited Nigerian University
  • Have applied and hold an offer of a place on an eligible postgraduate or undergraduate course
  • A Nigerian citizen resident in Nigeria
HOW TO APPLY
Interested applicants will be required to submit a 500 word essay on the title:
Tracing the historic links between Sussex and Africa, how does a Sussex degree position me for success and to make an impact to my society’  
All essays should be sent via email to eduk.enquiries@ng.britishcouncil.org using the subject title ‘Sussex Support Scholarship 2014’.
Deadline for submission is the 22nd June 2014

  • Candidates are required to fill and submit the attached application form along with their essay.
  • Please note that candidates should attach copies of their credentials (i.e. university certificates).
