The first match of this suspension is to be served in the upcoming FIFA World Cup fixture between Colombia and Uruguay on 28 June. The remaining match suspensions shall be served in Uruguay’s next FIFA World Cup match(es), as long as the team qualifies, and/or in the representative team’s subsequent official matches in accordance with art. 38 par. 2a) of the FDC. Chris has always denied assaulting a fan in 2013 outside a hotel in D.C. If he'd pled guilty, he would not have to serve any additional time in jail. Now that he's going to trial, jail time is on the line again. His bodyguard has already been convicted of the assault. A trial date has been set for September.
